Burnsville Raises the Bar on Performing Arts Center With Saturday, May 10 Event
BURNSVILLE, Minn., May 9 --
WHEN: Saturday, May 10
10:00 a.m. to 12 Noon
WHAT: A community celebration recognizing a milestone event for the
City of Burnsville's new community landmark, the Burnsville
Performing Arts Center.
History will be made as all in attendance will be invited to sign
a 45 foot steel beam -- the final beam for the Performing Arts
Center structure -- and then watch as it is lifted into place by
a giant crane into its place high atop the stage house over 80
feet in the air.
Hundreds of Burnsville residents are expected to gather for free
food and free entertainment such as music, face painting,
juggling and more.
The Burnsville Performing Arts Center, located in the Heart of
the City area, is a regional facility containing a 1000 seat main
theatre, black box theatre, art gallery and space for banquets
and events. Construction cost of the facility is $20 million. The
facility will be owned by the City of Burnsville but
professionally managed by VenuWorks, one of the three largest
public assembly management firms in the United States.
WHERE: Nicollet Commons Park / Burnsville Performing Arts Center
Just west of Nicollet Avenue and one block south of Highway 13.
From Highway 35W, take Highway 13 east to Nicollet Avenue. Take a
right turn at Nicollet and the Performing Arts Center and park
will be on your right.
WHO: Burnsville community leaders, arts groups and hundreds of
residents anticipated. The event will be highly visual with many
opportunities for video and interviews with local officials
involved with the project also available.
